Charles Town, WV (March 26, 2026) – The Jefferson County Commission recognized members of a local Girl Scout troop during last week’s Commission meeting for their leadership, community involvement, and commitment to service across Jefferson County.
During the meeting, the troop was presented with Youth Leadership Awards and annual Community Service Pins. These recognitions reflect contributions to the community, including park cleanups, support for neighbors, food drives, and service to seniors.
This recognition coincides with the anniversary of the founding of Girl Scouts, a time to reflect on the organization’s longstanding impact in developing leadership and service among young women. The Commission expressed its appreciation for the troop’s dedication and the positive role they play in strengthening the community.
“These young women are demonstrating what leadership and community engagement look like in action,” said Commissioner Cara Keys. “Through their service, they are not only strengthening our community today but also setting a strong foundation for the future of Jefferson County.”
The Jefferson County Commission congratulates each Girl Scout receiving a Leadership Award and Community Service Pin and commends their continued commitment to service and leadership throughout the County.
